craft.instant (Rust server ConVar)

craft.instant removes crafting time. The server's help text on build 25582902: "(Generated) When enabled, all crafting completes instantly with no time delay; useful for testing crafting recipes or quickly equipping items in development".

Despite the "testing" wording, it is a normal server setting: it applies to all crafting on the server, for every player, not only to admins. It changes time only; nothing in the help text says it changes recipes or costs.

Setting it

In server.cfg, or over RCON on a running server:

craft.instant true

It reads back as True or False. Our test server, where Panelra writes craft.instant false, answers:

craft.instant: "False"

Keeping it

server.writecfg does not save it: our test server's serverauto.cfg has no craft.instant line. A value set only over RCON is lost at the next restart, and the next server.readcfg puts back whatever server.cfg says. Write it in server.cfg.

That is also why Panelra always writes the line, even when instant crafting is off: an explicit craft.instant false in the file means a reload switches off a value someone turned on by hand over RCON.

Instant crafting is a switch in Settings. Panelra writes it to the generated server.cfg, applies it with server.readcfg without a restart, and reads the value back over RCON to confirm, treating False and false as the same.
